Your Stories

I’m adding  a page to this blog so that you can share a paranormal or cryptozoological experience you may have had.

Please try to include some basic information:

1. Where did the incident take place (city, state, country, area name, etc.)?

2. When did it take place? Date and time would be nice.

3. Who all was present or was it just you?

4. Were you able to record anything either visually (camera/video) or auditory (EVP recorder, tape recorder)?

5. What were the weather conditions? Fog, mist, rain, hail, snow, etc. Was it hot, cold, or temperate.

I’m really looking forward to your stories. Please keep the language clean because some young people read this page and I don’t want to expose them to crude or vulgar language.

Thanks!

Susan

  1. I had an “experience” when I was about 10 yrs old.. my father had one when he was younger.
I grew up on a farm in NE Iowa… we had a timberline that ran between the two farmers on the opposite side of us they were each on a hill and we were in the valley.. way back in the timber is a waterfall with small caves and a black pond.. seriously it was black even in broad daylight.. us kids loved to go back there but we were never allowed in the water.. we were told it was so deep that thats why it was black and that many years before a horse had gotten spooked and went off the hanging rocks above it and went into the pool and neither the horse or carriage ever surfaced.

I am a very light sleeper and living on a farm we always had wild dogs, people stealing gas.. etc.
and I would hear things out my window that faced the front of the house.. I would lay there with my chin on the window sill and just watch outside.
well one night I guess I had heard and seen something and I had run downstairs and woke my parents..
I kept repeating the same thing over and over.. I had no recollection of any of this for YEARS.. it was never brought up.. well shortly after my husband and I got married he was fishing with my dad..
and dad was telling him about it..on the way home my hubby was telling me what my dad told him and I wouldn’t believe it.. he said next time we are up there ask him..
so next time we went to my parents house, we were playing cards and it popped in my mind and I asked him about it.. he said yes I remember it you had come downstairs and just kept saying that you saw a spaceship and a creature and kept saying something else.. and he turned to my mother and asked her if she remembered what it was..
and she said no- i just remember her saying the same thing over and over..then my dad said that the next morning he was talking to my neighbor when he came down to borrow the feedmill and he told him what I had “seen” and my neighbor told my dad that I probably did see it because he and his wife were out on their front porch trying to cool off because it was so hot in the house and they had seen it go down way in the back timber by were the black pool is.
I was still having a hard time believing my dad cause he can be a real jokester.. but my mother is as straight laced a catholic as you can get and if she says its so .. its so..
but my dad truly believed it because he had had something happen when he was younger..

I have thought on this and can not understand why I only have a vague memory of sitting on the chest by my older sisters window – the chest was as high as the sill.. and outside the window was the roof to our kitchen.. so if you crawled out the window you were on the roof.. I very faintly picture something sitting on the other side of the window but its not clear to me.. and I recall “talking” but not talking with it.. but I don’t remember going down stairs or anything else before or after the window..
and I have an excellent memory of my childhood.. I can tell you 20 times at least that I remember running downstairs to wake my father because of something going on outside.
I’ve played with the thought of getting hypnotized to see what comes up.. but then the thought of it freaks me and I really don’t want to know..

so thats my story.. most people don’t believe it or simply don’t want to believe.. but it happened sure enough..
and for my dad to actually believe something like that was a major deal to me.. but when he heard the same thing from the neighbor that I said.. he was convinced.

I was asked why my dad would have told my husband about this after so many years passed ~ because in over 20 yrs I had never heard that story.. the subject was never brought up so I couldn’t figure out why my dad had told him.. but then I remembered that
my dad had taken him out fishing down where my dad had grown up and they lived just up the hill from the river.. and when my dad was younger he and a couple of his brothers had seen one go down in their timber.. by the river.. they went out the next morning to the area they saw it and there was a huge burnt area.. and for years nothing grew there..
so he was telling him about his experience and showing him the general area and then told him about my experience
it was shortly after we had gotten married and my folks didn’t know him real well yet.. so I think it was my dads way of just making conversation and trying to get to know him one on one..

I didn’t know about my dads sighting until he was talking about mine when I asked.. my oldest sister was there.. we were having some family get together and she was listening to all of it. and she actually got mad.. cause I guess she had done a paper on UFO’s for high school and she knew none of these stories and she could have used it in her paper..

the neighbor that had the cows mutilated had property adjacent to the one that saw it go down in the timber between the properties.. he never believed the sheriffs explanation that it was lightening..
I don’t remember all of it.. I was just a kid then hanging around and listening to the men folk talk.. and I never saw the actual cows but from what they were saying there were pieces missing and the lack of blood and no cut marks.. they didn’t directly say what it was but they made it very clear that “no man did that”
and that they didn’t believe the sheriff.. cause they had to call it in for insurance purposes.. but thats the explanation that he said to give them that they were hit by lightening.
this was all like 40 years ago.. things were handled differently back then. People sure didn’t want to believe in things that were abnormal, paranormal, or even unexplainable.

    • Brenda, that is fascinating!! I’d love to get a look at that black pool area and watch those skies at night. Very interesting! Thank you for sharing!!

  2. Sounds like a good spot for a night watch. I wonder is there a timeline for the visits or if it is just random.

  3. Growing up, I never questioned if ghosts were real, I knew they were. I have seen or heard them all my life. I am not a sensative or medium, just a normal person who has lived in very active homes. I have many stories, so I will start at the beginning.
The house was built in the early 1860’s and homesteaded by a family with two girls and a son. The front two rooms were made of logs with the rest being added on over the years. My family moved into the house in 1972 when I was 7. My sister and I shared a room upstairs and would always hear someone walking up or down the stairs. No one was ever there. We never saw who it was, but boy did we hear him. Heavy steps like a grown man in boots would make. I often wonder who he was.
One memory that stands out about that house, was the night one of the spirits brought a ball to supper. My family had sat down around the table to eat supper one night, Dad at the head of the table, with his back to the living room, Mom to his left and the rest of us kids in the other chairs. The dining room was just off the living room and kitchen. The stairs being right by the passageway in the living room. While we were eating, Mom kept looking into the living room. Soon enough we all saw one of our plastic balls rolling away from the stairs over to in front of the TV and back to the stairs..it then rolled into the dining room (uphill) and on into the kitchen to stop in front of the refridgerator. The whole thing lasted for several minutes, with 7 people watching it. My Dad will tell you today that it didn’t happen, we all dreamed it. He is the family skeptic. Mom and I both feel it was one of the kids just playing like kids do.
Mom tells a story about hearing someone come in the back door into the kitchen one summer daywhile she was sweeping the living room floor. She just thought it was Dad taking a break from gardening to go to the bathroom. She says she hollered out to him several times but got no answer. Thinking he was mad or something she walked into the dining room and stopped …she could see Dad at the far end of the garden still working. There was no way it could have been him. She walked through the kitchen and cheked the bathroom..Empty.
That old house burnt to the ground when I was 10, Dad built a new house on top of the hill. And the ghosts moved with us.

    • Angie – thank you for sharing!! That’s very interesting! I’m thinking the footsteps on the stairs were a residual haunt, you know the kind that just goes on regardless of who is listening. The ball rolling sounds like it must have been an intelligent haunt – interacting with the here and now. Did you see the Fact or Faked episode when they were at Eastern State Penitentiary (I believe) and they got footage of a kids ball rolling out of one room and into the hall? That reminds me of what you all saw in your home. I don’t know how anyone can explain that away.

The puzzle for me is, WHY do they stay and hang around? Why don’t they go into the light? It’s perplexing!

Thanks again — I really enjoyed reading it!

  4. The foot steps I do think were residual. It wasn’t until after we had moved into the new house that we began seeing who might have been playing with the ball. Being a new house, you wouldn’t think there would be any spirit action. Wrong, there was more. We started seeing a young girl of about 7-8 with long light brown hair, wearing a light colored dress and pinafore. I saw her jumping rope in the pine trees behind the house. Mom caught her looking into the house through the sliding door. My youngest brother who was about 4 at the time played hide and seek with her. He was the last person to ever see her, she stopped coming around as he got older. Now that we have young ones around again, I am waiting to see if any of them start talking about a new playmate.
I believe she must be one of the daughters of the first homesteaders, both girls died young and are buried not far from the property with their parents and a brother. We can’t tell much about them as the tombstones have been swallowed by a tree that grew up around them.

I believe the young girls stayed behind simply because they weren’t done living yet and are just waiting for the right child to come along so they can play again.

  5. I was hoping more people would come in to tell their stories…lol .

Like I said, I grew up seeing or hearing things. Not all of them took place in my house. My Mamaw was one of those people that just seemed to know things, or had things happen around her. She knew when one of her siblings had passed before they got the call, she could tell when there were “things” around before we saw them. She was like a beacon to them. The house they lived in while I was growing up was always “active”.
The house was just a typical ranch style house built in the early 1960s, my grandparents bought it brand new. Before that it had been farm land. Before that wilderness. From the time they moved in, things happened that they just accepted as normal. lol. My uncle Bill told a story of coming home one day from work and hearing kids playing in the back hall. He thought it was his younger brother and me laughing and giggling, he turned the corner to say hi and found the hall empty. He was alone in the house. My uncle Ricky tells how he and his friends were the living room one afternoon watching super 8 footage of a drag race they had all went to when a bullet shaped light went from one corner of the darkened room to the other corner and down the wall to rest in a chair before it travelled back up and left the same way it came in. His friends jumped up and left…some of them never would come back inside the house again.
Sitting in the living room, you would catch, out of the corner of your eye, a shadow crossing outside the picture window like someone had come through the yard and was about to knock on the door. No knocks would come. At night, if you watched the hallway you just might see a gentleman in a dark blue suit headed to the bedrooms. This happened several times a week, my mamaw thought it was her brother. I found out many years later that she had one of his suits in the closet of the middle bedroom. The door to this bedroom never stayed shut, no matter how many times you pulled it to.
In the kitchen, you could often hear dishes tinkling in the cabinets, and if you got lucky you would catch the garage door turning on its own. I couldn’t count how many times I have opened that door thinking it was one of the younger kids that couldn’t get the door opened by themselves. The door was heavy and hard to open.
The last thing I ever experienced in that house came after my Mamaw passed away. We had gathered at the house, Mom, my sister Debbie and myself were in the kitchen while Debbie worked on floral pieces from the family. Debbie was at one end of the table, Mom and I were at the other eating and talking about a wreathe Debbie had finished a few moments before. Out of thin air we both heard a breathy “Oh my.” Oh my was what Mamaw said when she really liked something. Rick, just walking into the kitchen ,heard it also. Mom started crying, and we both just smiled and asked Debbie if she had heard it. Deb said “heard what?”
The house was sold, but I often think about stopping and asking the new owners if he has heard or seen anything unusual since he moved in.

    • Wow, Angie, that house certainly does sound like it’s a haunted place. What fascinating memories you have of it. Especially your Mamaw.

I was hoping more people would share stories too, but it could be they just don’t have any. Maybe ask your friends or whomever if they’ve had experiences they’d like to share here. I’ll post about it again and we’ll see if more aren’t interested in sharing.

Let me ask you this — a friend told me she couldn’t “Like” one of the articles because she’s not a member (or registered with) WordPress. Are you registered with WordPress, or are you just able to make comments/”Like” articles? Thanks for that info because I’m trying to figure that out.

      • I had to register to be able to see the page yes. and I do believe that you have to do so to like the articles as well. I think that might also be what is stopping people from putting their stories up.
        Hope that helps.

  6. I wasnt but 7ish? Our family cocker spanial had died and i was playing in the backyard. I remeber it like its yesterday. I looked down and there she was at my feet and i exclaimed ‘buffy!’ And reached down to pick her up. My hands passed right thru her and she vanished. Ive seen so much that i am certian theres more out there. Just yesterday i walked past a room that had a little window on the door and glanced in the room and saw a full bodied shawdow figure standing there. Ive givin up self analyis and questioning myself. Its spooks.

    • Alice, thank you for sharing your experience! That’s so touching about your little doggie! The shadow figure would make me nervous, but I guess you don’t feel any bad energy from it, or for that matter, from your house?

  7. From Patty in Eugene, Oregon.
Our home is situated on the original homestead farm in our area south east of Eugene Oregon. About 1 year ago my husband and I were home alone. There were some strange things that happened that day. My husband and I were getting ready for bed around midnight. His routine was to check all doors and windows and I was already in our bedroom on the north west end of the house. My husband had just come out of the bathroom in the south east end of the house when he heard “GET OUT” 3 times. Each time louder and angrier. he came into out room and took a tape digital tape recorder and sat it in the dining room, right nest to the bathroom where he had heard the voice. he spoke and asked if there was someone there, if they needed anything or needed help. he then turned the recorder on and sat it on the table and came to our room closed the door. he did not mention anything to me about what he heard. 1/2 hour went by and brought the recorder into the bedroom. I still had no idea what was going on.he put on some headphones and listened and not long after that he took the headphones off and threw them on the bed. he looked as white as a sheet and he was very frightened. Im talking about a man who is not easily shaken. he asked me to tell him “what do you hear” and I listened to the recording. I had the same reaction that he did. I got up off the bed and began to shake and cry. What we both heard- A mans rough voice, a child ( I say boy, my husband suspects a girl) sobbing and a woman, as is if begging “Oh no, oh god no” we were both shaken and we both wept, I cannot conclude what had happened. Everyone who has heard the recording have all been saddened and shaken. Ill let the readers be their own judge. The digital recording could not be loaded onto our computer, so my husband used his video record setting on his Iphone to record what was on the digital recorder, so viewers will see a video of the actual recording. My son enhanced the video and removed some of the background noise with an editor program. He made it into a fun sort of mini movie with text. But the voices have not been altered, and he wrote what he though the words in the recording were. He has shared the video with PSI Oregon, and AGHOST in Seattle Washington.
We have had our home investigated by PSI Oregon out of Coos Bay, on two separate occasions in November 2010.Our son has also shared it with ” Christian Schmitt of parinormaltruthordare . So if you have seen it elsewhere, just know it happened in my home. Its good to wear headphones while listening. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=3031174548224&set=vb.1528704864&type=2. • I posted the video on the Cryptoville facebook page in case people cannot access it from my story.

        • Well, the investigator in the above recording was my husband. But actual PSI came in and did 2 investigations before , and found alot of evidence and many EVP’s . They were also forwarded the above recording and thought we should have our house blessed.

          • That’s what I was thinking Patty, that you should have the house Blessed. The growl is very disturbing and from what I’ve learned, that kind of sound is associated with the demonic. People ghosts are one thing, demonic ones, a totally different ballgame.

  8. Alice I would love to see my favorite pet from childhood. The shadow would spook me too if I didn’t know who it might be.

  9. Patty sent me some addition info & EVPs to share. I can’t upload the EVP files so I’m going to load them onto the CryptoVille Facebook page — go there to listen to them.

    Hi,
These are the EVP’s I told you about on FB messages. These were done by PSI Oregon in 2009. I though it was 2010, but here they are. The “Santa Clause Room” was a spare bedroom we had and used it for storage of Christmas decorations. Michelle room was my daughters room. The Cold Spot one was actually in my living room, with my husband who was sitting in front of the fireplace where it was very warm. Donna Stewart from PSI was saying it was cold, and a female voice responded ” Not warm”. Its kind of hard to hear. The two in the Santa Clause room are the best. Tell them Im back, and Someone is always stressed out in here. Strange because the room was just a storage room.
Im not sure how to get these on the blog site ” Your Stories”, but Id love to be able to add them!
    Thanks again,
    Patty Williams, Eugene Oregon

  10. Here’s mine.

    Through The Looking Glass

Around the winter of around 1980, January perhaps, I just got off work at 9:30 P.M. from the auto dealership. I was a car salesman at the time. I started driving towards the city of Toronto, Canada, on the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) eastbound to meet some friends at a bar on the Esplanad (a street lined with nightclubs). I was not under the influence of any drug or alcohol.

As I was driving, I noticed a string of lights slowly rotating counter clockwise over the city of Toronto, at about the ten o’clock position from my point of view. This caught my eye because these formation of lights were very unusual. The lights were evidently in a circular pattern with about two thirds visible as the other third rotated out of view. Imagine a pie plate with about 25 lights around the circumference of it. As this “pie plate” would revolve, a third of these lights would be hidden from view as if they were obstructed by a solid body. It was at night so all I could see was these rotating string of lights but they were definitely on a “fixed” platform as the lights were revolving in unison.

Although I’ve heard of UFO’s and was curious, at that time in my life, I didn’t really give that much thought about them. I’ve always been interested in nature and especially about the universe. I’ve seen all kinds of aircraft and advertising blimps at night before. I drove taxi’s off and on for fifteen years on the night shift and have seen countless meteors, lightening, satellites etc. On two occasions I’ve even seen extremely bright, slow falling, green fireball meteors lighting up the ground, for a couple of seconds, as if it was daylight . I’ve read, in later years, were other witnesses reported green fireballs as UFO’s. I chuckled to myself thinking how easily “UFO believers” can be fooled by natural phenomenon.

Anyway, these circle of lights were slowly descending and approaching towards me (westbound), while I was driving about 115 kilometers per hour on the highway (eastbound). These lights were getting closer and closer as “we” approached each other. I recall thinking to myself that this must be some kind of advertising balloon and those lights were letters. As I kept driving, I was paying more and more attention to this object because the closer it was getting, the more unusual it looked. I kept glancing at it, while driving, waiting until it was close enough to read what these letters were saying, still thinking it was some kind of advertising blimp. The closer it got, the more I looked at it. Now at my nine o’clock position, the string of rotating lights appeared to bank left like an airplane would “turning right”. Actually it wasn’t banking at all. It was dipping forward pointing towards the ground. At this point, I realized that these lights were not letters at all. They were different shaped, yellowish white lights. The reason these lights were different in shape was because they appeared to be “inset” into some solid body. When the lights were seen head on, they were circular. But as they rotated out of “direct” view, they changed shape like the different crescents of the moon. That’s why they appeared to be all different shapes.

During the time when this object started to bank left, or I thought from my point of view, I was struggling with myself trying to understand whether this was a plane, blimp, or a balloon. It was flying too slow for a plane, yet, too fast for a blimp. Also, it didn’t appear to be flying or floating. The best way I can describe its motion is that it looked like it was “sailing” in the sky.

What’s interesting here is that the human brain tries to associate what the eyes are seeing, to something already seen or experienced before. That’s why I was at war with myself trying to decide whether this object was a plane, blimp or a balloon. Every time I resigned myself to what I must be witnessing, I jumped to another conclusion. This jumping from one conclusion to another occurred during the whole experience. I was imagining all kinds of things. For example, if it was a plane, the only way these lights could have been positioned was in a circle because this plane must have had some kind of supporting structure in a circle from wing tip to wing tip. This didn’t make any sense at all. I’ve seen advertising planes before. This was nothing like this. Not even close. Than I was trying to imagine a “Goodyear blimp” with these letters going across it’s side. This was nothing like it either. So here I was, trying to drive and watch this object at the same time. As I was driving, I started to slow down because I kept looking at this circle of lights more than the road ahead of me. In retrospect, I don’t even know how I kept my car on the road because I was so awed by this display in the sky. As the object kept dipping forward more and more, it eventually ended up totally perpendicular to the ground! The first thing that came to mind was a big Ferris wheel rotating in the sky. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. At this point I slowed down to about 50 KPH (30 miles an hour in a 60 MPH highway for my American friends) and put my four way, flashing hazard lights on my car fearing that another car would crash into the back of me for going so slow on a 100 KPH highway.

As I was mesmerized by this strange looking object, a surge of adrenaline hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn’t realize how BIG this thing was. At first I thought it was the size of an airplane fairly close. IT WAS GIGANTIC! Absolutely enormous in size. At least twice the size of a football field, bigger than an aircraft carrier! it must have been miles away. I don’t know what gave away it’s size. Maybe the reflections of light on the ground. The best way I can relate this sudden realization is like one of those illusions most of us have seen. You know, when you look at a pixel drawing with an image you can’t see until you stare at it for a while? After a period of time, you make out the face of a women or something like that? That’s kind of the transformation I experienced. At first I thought the object was the size of a large plane than suddenly I REALLY saw it. IT WAS HUGE!!! I yelled out loud to my self, “Holey F**k, IT’S HUGE!!!”. I don’t F***ing believe it, it’s F***ing HUGE!!!. I thought it was fairly close at first, than bang!, it was much farther away and larger than my brain first comprehended it. Speaking about this surge of adrenaline. Have you ever had a really close call having a car accident? When your heart rate skyrockets to about 180 beats per minute? That’s what I felt when I realized how Gargantuan this object was! I could actually feel my heart pounding like crazy. To be frank, it then literally scared the hell out of me, when I realized how big it was. At this point, I rolled down my window and pointed to this giant “Ferris wheel” in the sky to the other motorists, but it appeared no one seemed to notice as they screamed by me at regular highway speeds. I remember how cold it was when I rolled down my window. It was something like minus 30 Celsius below zero.

After, I don’t know how long, probably only a few seconds of rotating in this perpendicular position, this thing started to climb and right itself and “sail” back to the direction it originally came from. I rolled up my window, turned off my hazard lights, and started to speed up to chase it. Still it seemed other motorists didn’t notice this object. That still irks me to this day. As I was approaching the city limits, this object was in it’s flat position again climbing over the city. Then, all of a sudden, the rotating lights turned off except for a red “aircraft like” blinking light (which I never noticed before). After a few seconds, the rotating lights turned on again. It was like in the movie “Close Encounters Of The Third Kind”. The lights just blasted on. Than after a few seconds they turned off again as it seemed to be right over the city. Strange behavior. Now I was exiting off of the highway on to Spadina Rd. I lost track of these lights because of the tall buildings. When I was on the street where I was going, I saw a cop parked on the other side of the road writing a parking ticked. I stopped in the middle of the road and ran over to him. He was quite taken aback by my seemingly aggressive approach. I asked him, “how long have you been here?” I forgot what he said, but I asked, “did you see that big circle of lights flying in the sky? He said “no”. After parking my car, I met my friends at the bar, “Bailey’s”, and told them what happened but they didn’t take me seriously as they’ve already had a few and were more interested in the ladies.

After sitting at the bar by myself for an hour or so I went home. I was living at my parent’s house at the time, temporarily, so when I got home around 11 P.M., I called the police. I didn’t know who else to phone at the time. They didn’t take me seriously of course so after that, I phoned the Toronto International Airport and managed to get through to Air Traffic Control and asked them if they had anyone call in with a UFO report. Nothing. So I called the police again and convinced them to take me seriously as I wanted to make a report. They told me they can send a couple of officers to my house. As it was late and my parents were asleep, I told them I’d rather come to the station the next day to report. Next morning, when I contemplated going in I decided not to, fearing they would think I’m some kind of wacko UFO fanatic.

As the days went by, scanning the newspapers looking for a “UFO sighting” to no avail, I started doubting myself. I was trying to convince myself that perhaps I was somehow mistaken. Maybe it was something not out of the ordinary at all. Maybe it was a balloon or airplane of some kind. Maybe like thousands of others, I witnessed something that I misinterpreted for something else.

About a week or so later, on or about the tenth page of the Toronto Star or Toronto Sun, bottom right hand corner, there it was! A short article. “Dozens of Mississauga residents reported a UFO as big as a football field.” I don’t recall the whole article. “Finally” I said to myself. “I knew it was real”, “I knew I didn’t imagine this”. I’ll never, ever, doubt myself again no matter how much ridicule I’ll be subjected to. I have two regrets however. One is It didn’t occur to me at the time to contact the media instead of the police and the airport. My second regret is I wish I had others with me to have this one in a million experience.

So there you have it. I won a lottery of sorts. Don’t believe me? I don’t care. Still interested? Keep reading.

    • Wow Nomad, that’s a fascinating account! I kind of doubt back in the early 80s either of our governments had anything that big flying around. I wonder what it was doing and why it banked down sideways to or near the ground. Is there a body of water in that area? I’m thinking people have theorized their ships or something may need water and maybe they were refilling or whatever.

Or could it be a military base in that area? Maybe they were picking up something or dropping something off?

      It’s fascinating to wonder about.

I’m glad you had the newspaper report to corroborate your own experience. Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I know my readers will really appreciate it! If you see anything else up there in the far North, please let us know! 🙂

  11. Hi,

Thanx for responding, is it Susan?

You’ve asked me a couple interesting questions. As a matter of fact, yes, Lake Ontario is just a few miles south of my sighting. After researching Unidentified Ariel Phenomenon for decades, I’m aware that this enigma is sighted near large bodies of water, electrical grids, military installations, automobiles etc.. And yes, Toronto International Airport is about 10, 15 miles north of here. Also, about 20 miles east of Toronto is Pickering Nuclear Plant. A lot of interesting places to attract UAP’s.

As for this giant object to end up in a perpendicular position was the most fascinating aspect. Remember I mentioned before that it looked like a giant Ferris wheel in the sky? Well it just occurred to me that a few miles outside of Toronto is a theme park called Ontario Place, right on the shores of Lake Ontario, And it has a big Ferris wheel! I know that I’m reaching here, but could this object have been mimicking a Ferris wheel???

As for seeing anything else? I doubt it. It’s been over 30 years so I think I won a one in a million experience.

Please check out my newbie, first time blog about my experience and some interesting facts and figure I’ve collected over the decades. – http://teebsrant.wordpress.com/2012/11/12/through-the-looking-glass/

    Cheers!

    • Thanks Nomad, I will check out your blog. As I like to tell my readers, we all need to keep our eyes open and our cameras charged and ready — just in case! 🙂 … Susan

  13. If you were to ask me if I have had a lot of these types of experiences I would say no. I recently decided to try and recall any “strange experience” from my earliest memories to my most recent and was surprised by how many there were.
So, I guess I will start with the earliest.
This first account is actually just before I can remember…
My dad had a friend over once when he and my mom had moved out to the country in Northern California. He said as he passed my door, he felt a horrible dread and evil feeling coming from my room. He was young and still new to the concept of God. He called out to his friend to come to my room where they both decided to just pray. He said they prayed all night just feeling a heavy, dark spirit lingering. Then as morning came the feeling left. He said he had never been so scared for me and from that night on, he prayed over me every night during my childhood.
He became a preacher soon after and has never left me wondering the truth of it.

  14. my second story takes place when I was 11, it is one of the stories that I am most reluctant to share so at this time I will move on and possible come back to this….
3- when I was 15 I heard a voice whisper my name in a tunnel at an amusement park I would frequent. I sometimes get overwhelmed by crowds and it was a place I had found that excited no one so was often empty…I loved it. It was always cold and dark in the tunnel in comparison to the outdoor temps so I couldn’t say the temp was “colder”.

4- at a time in my life ( in my teens) when I felt very close to considering suicide, I had a dream that a child came to me and said live for me. I woke in the middle of the night very emotional about it and immediately wrote everything I could remember in my diary. A couple years later I had my first child, a girl, and she looked just like the child in the diary entry.

  15. 5- when I was about in my mid 20’s, my toddler son began talking about Jack. He had already been talking about Ray for some time but the two were very stark in comparison. So much so that we had to consider that Jack might be a ghost. If my husband could hammer a nail in a piece of wood in three blows, Ray could do it in one, if my husband could take stairs two at a time, Ray could take 4….Jack however was always completely normal. My son also spoke of him in a normal voice as if talking about his sister or aunt. Never excited like when he spoke about Ray. All of this detail led me to start taking notice. I began asking questions. Is Jack tall like dad? no. is he super strong? he is just normal. Can he fly? Mom, he is just a man.
    oh.
My son loved talking about Ray even when I asked questions but after I began asking questions about Jack he sort of stopped talking about him on his own. One day I said ” I haven’t heard much about Jack in a long time.” My son’s face became very somber and he said “he died”. I was so startled by this because I , by that time, had come to believe that Jack was a ghost and thus dead already! about a year later we were driving in a part of the city that I was familiar with in my younger days but rarely drove through with my son and never stopped. As I came to a stop in traffic. There was a school on one side of us and a tall grassy knoll on the other. My son stopped chatting and looked over to the knoll and said “that’s where Jack is” . sitting in the car it is impossible to see what is on the grassy knoll but I knew that on the other side was a cematary.
Over the years we have come to believe that maybe Jack was a coma patient who then past on.

    • Hi Lori! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. They are very interesting. There certainly seems to be strange things happening around you and your family.

My primary focus is on cryptozoology (creatures that walk in the same dimensions of time & space that we do). I’m not an expert in paranormal phenomena by any means. Ghosts and spirits can be very tricky to decipher, that’s for sure!

I hope things calm down for you and your children, though, and that you all stay safe and well! Thanks again!

  16. Hello, I’ve had a lot of strange happenings in my life and the first one was when I was about 7 yrs old. I was sleeping in a field behind my cousins house with my cousin kind of camping out with sleeping bags when all of a sudden a transformer blew on an electrical pole and we ran into my cousins house.Well his parents told us to sleep next to the house so we were looking at the stars and noticed one moving and it was zigzagging so it wasn’t a satellite and even at 7 I knew it was something strange but wasn’t afraid. It all of a sudden took off and it was gone. I’ve always believed we are not alone and about a week later I was laying in bed at my parents house in the upstairs bedroom and looked down the hallway and seen 3 monsters looking in the window at me and it was 10 feet off the ground. Can’t really remember what they looked like because I put my blanket over me and snuggled up to my brother.I can only remember they had big grinnes on their faces.I’ve seen UFOs every once in a while and have seen ghosts and even a black panther that ran in front of the school bus. Well I’ll leave it their for now. PEACE

  17. Hello Sue That happened in Pontiac Mich in 1961. I seen the black panther in North Port Fla in 1968. Never knew black panthers were crypto until 2000. They’ve been seen around that area forever. I’ve seen lights in the sky every so often and I’m 60 now. Len Strickler says that area has had a lot of strange activity through the years. I lived in a haunted house in Punta Gorda in 1993 and I got up one night to use the bath room and was walking out of the door and got hit in the back of my head hard enough to knock me to the floor. I looked next to me and the toilet seat was laying right there on the floor. I went in the bathroom and the plastic screws was set right on each side of the toilet lol. I yelled out you’re not going to scare me out of this house and I lived there for another 6 months and nothing else happened to me even though down stairs doors opened and lights on and off to the other tenants. Back in 1969 we used to go down a road called center road were there was a mystery light and every once in awhile we would see a white light. Once as we were driving down it we thought we seen an animal in the road and it turned red 50 ft in front of us and started rising up in the air with red sparks coming off of it until about 20 ft in the air and then disappeared. I’ve had alot of strange things in my life, while I was in LA taking care of my uncle in a rehab I would get there about 10am and my aunt and cousin would get there about 11 and one day I pulled up and seen my cousin leaving the place and thought that was weird. She had bought a new purse a week ago but she was carrying her old one. She walked down the sidewalk in the other direction as I was walking up and I figured I would see my aunt in the room and nobody was there. At around 11 they showed up at the usual time thinking that I lost my mind LOL. It must of been her doppelganger or a film of the past.I could go on but need to take a shower lol. If you want to hear more stories I’ll be happy to write some more. I don’t know why strange things happen around me since I don’t really have any super psychic powers. Sincerely Kenny

  18. I tell this story a lot, but here goes.
When I was really little, I loved visiting my Great Aunt Berta’s house. She always had things for me to do and I never got bored. One day after we got home from visiting some family, we opened the door to a strange sight. I couldn’t see it that well but a figure jumped in fright and ran down the hallway. I was dead frightened as I had never seen anything like it before. All throughout the night i refused to sleep as I thought the ghostly figure would come to curiously visit me. Looking back, I feel like it was more scared of me that I was of it!

    • Thank you for sharing your story Ariana! That gave me chills! I’m glad you had family with you.

I’m wondering if your Aunt ever reported other incidents that happened when you weren’t there? Maybe she didn’t want to scare you.

Thank you for visiting CryptoVille! … Susan (CryptoVille)

  19. My aunt actually never reported things like that, on that night I never told her what i saw. Since then, Ive been telling myself it was a trick on lights

  20. Something strange happened to me when i was living in Hyderabad for my job. One day when i returned from office i found the front space of my flat flooded. The water was bone chilling and it didn’t spread anywhere in the flat just that space. All taps and water sources were closed perfectly so it wasn’t a leaked water. I don’t know from where the ankle deep water come. But i was scared

    • WOW! That is creepy, Rajeev. Nothing else happened after that, or did you leave that place after the mysterious flood?

Thank you for visiting CryptoVille! … Susan (CryptoVille)

      • Nothing happened there i stayed for two more months but my roommate left the next day. Don’t know if it was for him or me.

  21. Hello, I stumbled upon your website while researching the Mogollon Monster after a potential encounter with the beast. I thought I would share my story since you don’t seem to have much info on the Mogollon Monster in particular.

In late June or early July of 2017, I was camping on the Mogollon Rim with my parents and my boyfriend. This was at the Aspen Campground, near Woods Canyon Lake. It had rained all day, and the tent I was going to share with my boyfriend had flooded, so we ended up sleeping in the back of my father’s car. It was very uncomfortable so I was awake most of the night — but the discomfort wasn’t the only thing that kept me up. While my boyfriend slept soundly next to me (he is a VERY deep sleeper, will even sleep through fire alarms) I heard what was unmistakably a woman screaming for help.

“HELP, HELP, PLEASE GOD HELP ME” she screamed, and I jolted upright upon hearing this. I wanted to exit the vehicle and find her, but something in my gut told me that if I got out the car right then, I would not be safe, and would end up facing a fate worse than death.

She continued screaming throughout the night, with the sound moving as if it was a person running around, circling, looking for help. I shook my boyfriend awake, and the screaming suddenly stopped. He stayed awake for about 10 minutes, talking to me and telling me that I had likely been asleep, having a nightmare. I remained adamant that I had been awake, and he went back to sleep, telling me to get some rest.

“PLEASE, GOD, SOMEBODY HELP ME” the woman begged, the moment my boyfriend was asleep. Again I wanted to get out of the car and go look for her, but every instinct in my body was screaming not to. In the end I just laid in the car, listening to her scream for what felt like hours.

The next morning, I asked my parents, who had been sleeping in a tent nearby, if they had heard anything. They both said that they hadn’t. I described the screaming and begging for help I had heard, and they looked concerned and shocked. I chalked it up to being a bad dream, like my boyfriend said, and forgot about the incident.

A couple weeks ago, I was messing around on the internet. I’ve always been interested in cryptozoology, and I was curious to see if there were any cryptids in the Arizona area, where I live. That’s when I stumbled upon the story of the Mogollon Monster. As I read the Wikipedia page, my heart began to race and I felt myself turning cold. While I hadn’t seen a monster, there were several sources that claimed that the Mogollon Monster can mimic the cries of a human female in distress, in order to lure in victims. I couldn’t believe what I was reading — although I had remained sure that I had not imagined the screaming I had heard, I had pushed it to the back of my mind as it didn’t really make sense to me that I was the only one who heard it. Now, I can’t get it out of my head. I am now certain that something nefarious is happening on the Mogollon Rim. Though I have camped there every year since I was a child, I am now frightened to go back, fearing that the Mogollon Monster — or whatever was out there — will come back, trying to lure me again.

So there you have it, the story of one girl’s encounter with the Mogollon Monster. I hope you find this informative, as you stated that there is not much info out there about this particular monster. Thanks for giving me a platform to share my story on.

    Kind regards,

    Madison.

    • Good Lord, Madison, that is a terrifying account of your experience! I’m so sorry you had to go through that alone, and that no one else in your party heard anything.

I’m fascinated because this account veers off from what was in the back of my mind, that the Mogollon Monster was just another Bigfoot traveling in the area, doing Bigfooty things. But in you account, there is something that makes me think there is something demonic about it, supernatural. It seems to be very different from a large bipedal ape stomping through the woods and occasionally growling or calling.

What a Blessing that you stayed in the car!! There are so many weird things going on in the forests and recreational areas of our country, that it makes me just want to stay home. Have you read any of David Paulides Missing 411 books? You can also listen to interviews with him on YouTube for free. His research also points to very very strange things happening ‘out there.’

Thank you for sharing your very interesting account, and please stay safe!

  22. It was the summer of 1989, so I have no photos or audio to share. I was home from college for the summer in Newark, Ohio, which is about 35-40 miles east of Columbus. It had just under 50,000 residents at the time, but had, and still has, a very small-town feel.

I was waitressing and often worked the closing shift. We had been unusually busy, but short-staffed, so by the time I was able to leave for home, it was around 2am.

The drive home was short and usually uneventful, since there has never been much of a “night life” in Newark. It was a hot night and I had my windows down because my car didn’t have air conditioning. There were few, if any, people out and about, and even fewer cars on the roads at that time, so it was easy enough to see what I thought was a very old, frail man out walking on the well-lit sidewalk in front of an elementary school not far from my home. The turn into my neighborhood was close and the traffic light at the intersection was red, so I had already begun to slow down, and was thinking about stopping to see if the old man needed help. He was just so out of place that I thought he may be lost, or confused, and had wandered away from home. As I slowed, I got a better look at him. He was pale, his skin having a grayish pallor to it, and he was mostly bald, with just a few patches of whispy hair floating uncombed around his head. I noticed that he was skeletally thin because the dirty business suit he was wearing hung limp on his frame and the neck of his dress shirt was far too large, even though it was buttoned up to the top and he wore a tie. I saw that his pants and sleeves were torn in tatters at the bottom where there should have been cuffs and his shoes looked loose and oversized. He was hunched over, shuffling along the sidewalk slowly. I noticed a kyphosis (a curvature of the spine, often called a hunchback) and a contracture of his left arm that kept his wrist bent at an unnatural angle inward as he held the arm to his chest. His right arm hung limply at his side he and kept his head down.

I slowed to car to a near stop to try to see his face, and that was when he lifted his head to look at me. Where his eyes should have been, there were dark holes. In spite of his lack of eyes, I could tell at that moment that he “saw” me because several things happened all at once. He straightened his posture slightly and brought his right arm up to point at me. His mouth opened as if to scream at me but I heard no sound. As I watched, his mouth began to widen further until it was grotesquely stretched and open far wider than any normal human could do.

He began to wave both of his arms around quickly and erratically, and moved toward my car faster than any old man could realistically move. I panicked and hit the gas to get away from him, never stopping for the red light, to get home. I parked and ran into the house, terrified that he (it, whatever it was) would find my house and be able to “get” me. I couldn’t even bring myself to look out the windows. I called the police to report what I saw, leaving out the crazy parts in the hopes that they would at least send a patrol car to look for a lost old man. They said it was probably just someone playing a prank. I know better. He had no eyes! His mouth, grotesque and twisted, open abnormally wide like a dark, hungry cavern as he chased my car!

I don’t know what that was, but I had never seen anything like it before, and I haven’t seen anything like it since. It’s been more than 30 years and I can still see it as plain as day. That was no man. I’ve been researching on and off for years to find any reference to what I saw, but I’ve never found a thing. Does anyone have any ideas?

    • Well TJ, I’m sitting here covered in chills from reading your account – that was absolutely terrifying!! I thank God you made it home safely & haven’t been disturbed by anything like that since. I don’t know what it could have been. I could guess, but who really knows?

Thank you for sharing your account here in CryptoVille – I’m sure others will appreciate it too. And thank you for visiting CryptoVille! … Susan (Curator of CryptoVille)

  23. Thanks, Susan! I’ll keep you updated if I find anything in my research. If you (or any or your readers) have any insight to offer, I would love to hear it.

    • Hi Nevaeh! That is a VERY interesting theory and something I need to think long and hard about. I tried looking at the link, but it’s not letting me in. 🙁 Still, I’ll try to do some research into this theory and see what I can come up with. Definitely a tantalizing thought.

Thank you for visiting CryptoVille! … Susan (Curator of CryptoVille)
